The following photo story was shot in May 2002. Earlier that year my grandmother Anna Danuta Pilachowska was diagnosed with liver cancer. After multiple examinations it turned out that the cancer was in its advanced stage and that there is nothing that the doctors can do apart from relieving her pain. During the last three weeks of her life, my grandmother stayed at my family’s house and we spent the last painful days with her.
